Hi List
Was browsing thro Tony's Database - a favourite pastime - and came across a
SC Summons of 1790 for several people, among them were a couple of the
Moodie family - or were they.
There was an Andrew Moody of Grutton(Gruting?)
Also a Fraser Mudy of Bigsetter.
Presumably the names had been written down by the same Sheriff's clerk so
why the different spelling.
Previously I had thought they were all Moodies with different spellings from
different registrars.
My interest is through my gt.gt.gt.grandmother who was married as Margaret
Moodie and Margaret Mudy in 1795.
Anyone any ideas. Oh and anyone know where Bigsetter was.
My Regards
Albert Abernethy
