Hello Anne, thanks for your reply....
What I am looking at is James born 1762 to John and Janet (Turnbull)
Then James married 1788 (age 26) to Janet Ronald....
children:
John 1789 Falkirk
Jean 1791 Glasgow
James 1795 Glasgow
Thomas 1803 Glasgow
On the death of daughter Jean 1874 a son-in-law gave the mothers name as Janet TURNER should have been Janet Ronald.
So I am leaning towards the name TURNBULL.....and hoping that I may get further confirmation for this.I have found several instances of names that have been recorded incorrectly.
All I know is Falkirk for this early part of the family.
