Subject: NORTON in Stirlingshirer - need some help
Date: Wed, 05 Apr 2006 15:04:52 -0600
Would appreciate help if anyone has access to data.
NORTON and / or TOBIN (an)
Attempting to find Norton's in the Stirling area around the 1861 time
frame. Has anyone on this list access to the 1861 census for this
area? Not often I find a route to follow regarding nortons but found a
marriage for John Norton and Margaret Tobin in 1864 (Falkirk), so this
seems like a good place to look.
The parents of John have the same surnames that I am after, so this may
be the big connection that has eluded me.
Any data on this surname would help.
I have them in the 1881 census (Bathgate) but can't get back very far
before this time period. All were from Ireland at some point.
If no one has access then I will jump into Scotlandpeoples and have a
look but no harm in asking the List first..
Thank you
Bob
