I know its 3 years on since you posted this querie but I have just started to research my family and have quite a few Moirs born at Ardo Methlick. My Gt Grandmother was Elizabeth Matthew Moir(b1870) married to Peter Morrison. Elizabeth was daughter of Robert Moir(b1834) and Elizabeth Cheyne (b1838) and grandaughter of George Moir(b1790). His father was also George(b1790) and grandfather again called George(1702). There are a lot of Moirs around! I still live locally in the Ellon/Methlick area. I got a lot of this information from a Cheyne family website which has links to family members
