Hello Yvonne,
The John Christie that Alistair mentions was born 08 Dec 1832 at Old
Croft Farm (near Touch). He died at Mossman NSW 30 Mar 1916, but he was
married to Elizabeth Froomes, so cannot be the one you seek as his first
child was born to her on 14 Jan 1859.
