OK folks..I don't know if I have the right location or not, but I am going to post my query.
I am from the USA. I have an unusual story. In the early 1700's anywhere from 1740 to 1763 my direct ancestory a Thomas Sealock in all probablilty came to the Americas. t
Thomas was married in 1763 to Susanna Cooper. He had stated that he was an orphan and that he did not know his surname, but that he remembered he came to this country from a town named Sealock.
I see that Grangemouth in the early 1700's was called Sealock.
What I would like to know is - would the inhabitants of the town of Grangemouth whose ancestors had lived there since the 1700's be kind enough to give me their surnames. I would like to have a direct male of the Sealock family take a DNA test. Then if by chance the surname of one of the earliest inhabitants of Grangemouth, (Sealock) matched we could find our line.
I know this is an unusal request and goodness knows it might not even work but since we came to a dead end with Thomas Sealock 1763 it is worth a shot...don't you''all think.
Hoping to hear from somebody...I thank you in advance.
Marge from Minnesota USA
