Can anyone tell me anything about the following family from who moved around
quite a lot, eventually emigrating to Canada. They spent some time in Brora
where they left my particular line of the family.

James MURRAY
bd. ca 1852
occ. Farm servant at Clynelish
married 1 Aug 1873 Dunnet to
Elizabeth JACK
bd. ca 1853

Children:
|Sinclair MURRAY*
| bd. 29 Jan 1874, Dunnet
|Donald Jack MURRAY
| bd. 20 Oct 1875, Bower, Caithness
|Margaret Lyall MURRAY*(My great grandmother)
| bd. 18 Sep 1877, Bonar
| dd. 21 Feb 1968, Brora
| brd. Brora Cemetery
|Jane Mowat MURRAY*
| bd. 4 Jun 1879, Bonar Bridge
| dd. 9 Apr 1963
| brd. Brora Cemetery
|James MURRAY
| bd. 16 Jul 1881, Clynelish
|Elizabeth Jack MURRAY*
| bd. 7 Sep 1882, Clynelish
|Jessie Brodie MURRAY
| bd. 28 Sep 1884, Clynelish
|Alexander Brown Lawson MURRAY
| bd. 10 Aug 1886, Clynelish
|John Bremner MURRAY
| bd. 13 Apr 1888, Clynelish
|Catherine Mennie MURRAY
| bd. 4 Dec 1890, Clynelish
|Ann Isabella MURRAY
| bd. 9 Sep 1892, Clynelish
|Edward MURRAY
| bd. 22 Dec 1893, Clynelish
|Cecilia MURRAY
| bd. 25 Nov 1895, Clynelish

When James Murray senior retired at 60 he and Elizabeth emigrated to Canada
(ca 1910-1915). Some of the children went with them but I beleive that
others (asterisked above) stayed in Scotland. Both James and Elizabeth are
believed to have lived into their nineties, and I have a few photos of
Elizabeth looking hale and hearty in her later years.

I also have some more fragmentary information on some of the children which
I can post if there is any interest.

Cheers

Dario Leslie
