Iain

I havent been getting any mail either from the list....and my internet was
seemingly down altogether for over 24 hours as well...I asked if my mail
went back but he said not....didnt seem right tho

Question I have for some of you more informed people than me ...LOL...I
would say that wouldnt be too hard to follow up on...hehe

I have acquired the 1831 Edinburgh Almanac

I am just looking around in it but noticed this

1776 MacDonald ...
Godfrey Boswell MacDonald , Lord MacDonald son of Alexander first Lord by
Elizabeth Diana, daughter of Godfrey Boswell Esq (born 1774): succeeded his
brother 1824 a Lieutenant-General (married 1805 Louisa Marie daughter of
Farley Edsir esq) issue Alexander, William Robert married 1823 miss Baynard
: two other sons:Louisa countess of Hopetown:the honorable Mrs. Davidson and
three other daughters

Then in brackets is this
Armdale Castle, Isle of Skye, Gunthwaite, Yorkshire

Now I never knew there was a castle at Armdale.....and Armdale is one of the
places where my MacDonalds are from....is there any chance with this
reference is connected to my family??

I have wondered if my MacDonald line didnt come from the Isle of Skye as
when I was reading some thing over in the parish records in Sutherland the
reference ws made....to the Isle of Skye somewhere in there...

Cathy
