Challachmun is shown on Pont's map (Old Glenluce parish)
just north of "Old Sunoness", but Pont wrote the place-names as they were pronounced at the time.

Challochmun is shown on Ainslie's map c.1782
just north of "Synnyness Castle in ruins" of Earl of Stair (Dalrymple)
and Auchenmalg of Rev. Adair which was at Auchenmalg Bay.
