Many of my mothers family come from Wigtownshire, I have Johnston(e)'s and O'Hares (or O'Haire or O'Hair) which are my direct links, but also, McKnight, Kean, Beggs, Galloway and Kelly to name a few, mostly from around Stoneykirk and Kirkmaiden. Would love any contact from anyone with similar interests. I travelled to Kirkmaiden last year, but was disappointed to find no headstones I thought might be there. I know my grandmother had siblings who died young at Cairngaan on the Mull of Galloway...so where might they be buried?? or might they just not have a headstone?
