Car rental in the UK seems to have changed. I looked into a number of
rental possibilities earlier this year, and while some appeared to have an
age cut-off at 75, I found that if I flew with British Air and bought a
car rental through them, then it was with Hertz, and there was no upper
age restriction. Those were the words in the car rental contract:
Upper age restriction - None.
Not only that, we got a very nice Ford in excellent condition, and then
proceeded to put 2300 miles on it around England, Scotland and Wales (in
that order). The traffic though is something else. You might want to try
hard to avoid the London area, & the Edinburgh ring road was no bargain.
Wigtownshire on the other hand was wonderful, of course!!
