Thank you Fiona for the explanation of the difficult words in the c.1570s will of a person
who died near Whithorn. That was great. Just two more, if you don't mind.
The "goods and gear" listed :
In ye hous ten (with a moon-shape over the ten) stane of jine at ten s. per stane, total five li. (pounds).
The words stane and jine may be spelt a little differently.
I cannot get my Aussie tongue or mind around these old Scots words. Thanks.
