I recently obtained a copy of our grandfather's attestation papers for WW1
in Canada and he lists his next of kin as James McLean and address as
Milsares, Sorbie - that's the best I can read - anyone have any ideas as to
which farm that is?

Also he says he served in the 395 Battalion Royal Scots Fus. - which I
assume is Fusiliers - was this a militia? It says he served 5 months so was
there a mandatory service period?
