Good Evening,
I've found that sometimes in order to find our ancestor, we must go in
'through the back door' and research some of the families who married into
ours.
In looking through the archives of this list, I found several references
to the Parr surname and wondered if the list members would be so kind as to
look and see if any of the 'connecting' families are yours. If so, would
you mind sharing information with me? Thanks in advance for any
information. I'll cut & paste some of the info from the archives below.
Regards,
Nancy E Parr

3-from Stephanie Cecil (Aug 1999): Does anyone have in their 'tree' either
of these two grandsons of CharnerAdams, SC, -sons of Joel Ivey Adams and
Mary'Polly' Parr--1. AMBROSE RAY ADAMS, b.1840 [Union SC] d. 19102.
ADOLPHUS ALLEN ADAMS,b. 1842,.[union SC] d. 1889

4- from Linda in Tn (June 2000): Andrew J. was named in the Will of
Thomas Nance dated 1841 (probated 1843). Thomas' wife is given as Elizabeth
(?). Within the Union Co. Heritage book, Elizabeth PARR (1797-1849) m.
Thomas Nance. Additionally as per the Heritage book, the Nance family, the
Scales, the Vaughns, the Adams, Harris families, etc. settled early on
(1800s) in the Brown's Creek area possibily coming together from Va. LINDA
in TN

5-found on internet search: Will of Benjamin McGraw of Fairfield Co., SC;
dated Oct 4, 1834. He lists a son named Arthur PARR McGraw. One may
assume that Arthur's middle name could possibly be his mother's maiden name
as this was common. I know this is not in Union Co., but thought that by
including the info someone might see it and be able to help.
