Betty,
I may not help with the Morgan search, but there was a William Morgan in the
Union County, SC census of 1790.
Try this source for the Morgan family in Union County, SC
http://www.rootsweb.com/~scunion/union.html
This gives births, adoptions, wills, marriages, probate info, etc. Also
lists material in Cherokee, Chester, Fairfield, Laurens, Newberry, and
Spartanburg, SC. One of these may give a lead.
Also: http://www.rootsweb.com?~usgenweb/as/sca_union.html
Note: There is a _ between sca_union
click SC Archives
This latter site should give Alabama material of similar nature, but I have
not checked it as to what or how much is there.
Happy hunting, William Woodson
