BERRY, ___ (to)Jesse DOUGLAS case 53 file 2332 1807. Other BERRY's were
mentioned. CATHERINE SIMRIL and ______ BERRY are not the same.
Further, if Catherine SIMRIL was the daughter of Violet BARRY who had married
John HENDERSON first and JAMES SIMRIL second, would not Catherine SIMRIL
have a SIMRIL maiden name?

Does anyone have a list of the children of Catherine SIMRIL and Jesse DOUGLAS?
And most importantly dates of Jesse and Catherine and where they died?

I believe the York Co, SC Jesse DOUGLAS to be the SC Rev. War Sol. The
SC Rev. War Sol. Jesse DOUGLAS fought under John HENDERSON.

I think there was also a second Jesse DOUGLAS who had land in Spartanburg
Co, SC in 1810. He may have been the same Jesse DOUGLAS in 1777 Caswell
Co, SC and possibly also a Rev. War Sol from ??? who received land (and
LIVED) in Spartanburg Co, SC west of the Broad River while Jesse DOUGLAS
and CATHERINE SIMRIL (LIVED) east of the Broad River in York Co, SC according
to the county records.

I have the Spartanburg Co, SC transactions of Jesse DOUGLAS(from 1798-1811)and
surnames in those and in the census are MILLICAN, LEWIS, CRUMLEY. This
Jesse DOUGLAS buying land there in 1801 LIVED on Obed's Creek on the North
Fork of the Pacolate River near the present town of Fingers, Spartanburg
Co, SC. He sold this land in 1805 when he was physically in Rutherford
Co, NC to Thomas CRUMLEY and bought back the same land from Thomas CRUMLEY
and another 100 acres. Two Jesse's may have been doing these transactions
because later there was a sheriff's sale of where Jesse "used to live"
but the amount of total acreage doesn't tally up. John CUNNINGHAM brought
suit against GALT and won forcing the sale. The 1801 land was land given
by a grant to Isaac ANDERSON.

My Jesse DOUGLAS and wife SARAH ANN ___ had a child born 1813 in Spartanburg
Co, SC. There was only one Jesse DOUGLAS there in the 1810 Census. My Jesse
was living by 1816 in McMinn Co, TN. He was born about 1784.

James SIMRIL was in the Spartanburg records. Has anyone worked on CATHERINE
SIMRIL in regard to JESSE DOUGLAS? I would appreciate any help with the
above.
