In Alfred, N. Y., Feb. 26th, 1880, of cancer tumor, Mrs. Laura Lorena
Witter in the 68th year of her age. From her childhood she had lived in
this town. In early life she obtained a hope of sins forgiven. For many
years she had been a member of the Second Seventh-day Baptist Church of
Alfred. Her life witnessed the power of grace to bless, and in her death
she witnessed its power of assurance.
