Your message was posted as a new message, so we cannot tell which Peter JORDAN you mean. Is this the family?

There are South Dakota Births (see that site for limitations) for Peter JORDAN & Isabel SUTHERLAND, Clay Co., Grace, b. 23 Nov. 1871, and for Peter JORDAN & Florence STEWART, sons Bert, b. Buffalo Co., 4 Je. 1888, & in Clay Co., Frank, 25 Je. 1897 & Earl, 12 Nov. 1901.

There are land patents (online) for Peter JORDAN, 1871, Clay Co.; 1887, Davison Co.; & 1890, Buffalo Co. I don't see anything in Beadle County.

FamilySearch has Peter JORDAN (6 Mar. 1858, Decatur, IA - 29 May 1932, Tobin Twp., Davison Co., SD, bu. Bluff View Cem., Vermillion, Clay Co., SD). He m. 20 Feb. 1887, Kimball, Brule Co., SD, Florence STEWART.

Peter JORDAN (1804, Culnabin, Mayo, IRL - 9 Feb. 1879, Vermillion, bu. Bluff View Cem., Vermillion, Clay, SD) must have died leaving this family, on the 1880 Census, Twp. 92, Clay, Dakota Territory:

Isabella, wid., 45, she & parents b. Scotland; dau. Elmyra, 23, b. IL; ch. Peter, 21; John, 19; & Mary 17, b. Iowa; Grace 8, b. Dakota.

There were also in Twp. 92, Clay Co., Dakota, 1880, JORDAN, Thomas, 43, he & parents b. Ireland; wf. Nancy M., 38, IL TN TN; son John F., 16, b. Iowa; ch. b. Dakota: Charles E., 14; Julia F., 10; Peter A., 9; Geo. F., 4; & Harry M., 2.

Ancestry.com has free access to their immigration records this month. There was a Peter JORDAN, 45 in 1847, in New Brunswick, Canada. However, birth is too early by a couple of years. Also off a couple of years is Thomas, arr. NY, on the Brothers, 11 July 1848, aged 10.

The 1860 Census, Long Ck., Decatur Co., IA [33 228 208], has Peter JORDAN, 55, Ireland; Isabella, 28, Scot.;
born in IL: Albert, 13; Isabella, 10; & Eliza, 5;
born in Iowa, Peter, 2, & Albert, 2/12.
{It wouldn't be too unusual for Eliza, 5 in 1880, to become Elmyra, 23 in 1880, and for Leroy to become John.}
The next household in 1860 was of Thomas, 24, b. Ireland.
