Mary Ann Drake and William Murphy were married in N. Ireland 16 Mar 1843 (I
have a CERTIFIED COPY OF AN ENTRY OF MARRIAGE for them.) They had three
children, Mary Ann Girvin, b. 08 Nov 1844, John, b. 08 Aug 1846, and William
Douglas, b. 14 Jul 1848. ( I have a Certificate of Registry of Baptism for
each of the boys, but not the girl.)
Sometime after the birth of William Douglas, they moved to Winneshiek Co,.
IA. William D. died 09 Apr 1930, buried in Little Old Stone Church,
Decorah, IA [city cemetery]. His father William died 15 Nov 1861 [46yrs.]
and is buried in same cemetery. Mary Ann and children, Her brother William
Drake and family, and sister Eliza Jane [Drake] Halse and family moved to
Dexter Township, Codington Co,. SD [or Dakota Terr.] Mary Ann died 18 May
1903 and is buried in Helgen Cemetery [Florence], SD.
My grandmother, Anne Jesme [b. 1888], married Charles Murphy
[when/where?].
I am missing the information linking Charles to Mary Ann. It seems to me
that Charles was a son of John Murphy. I have no more data on Charles, or
John.
