Sorry, I'm in Davison County, where Ethan is, but I don't see any record of Michael Henry GASPERS here. However, online sources might help.

Per the 1930 census, Wyandotte Co., KS, Mitchel, 43; & Margaret, 45; had Lena, 19; Catharine, 13; & Herbert, 11.
Joseph MAGERL & Lena had
Rose Marie MAGERL (16 Nov. 1932, KC, MO - 3 May 1973, Orange Park, FL, bu. Mt. Olive, KC, MO) m. Wm. Henry PROSSER (7 Sep. 1930, Los Angeles, CA - 23 Je. 1975, Seattle, WA, bu. King City Cem., King City, MO); m2. Henry BRODOWSKI (4 Nov. 1922 - 22 Oct. 1985, Jacksonville, FL).
The GASPERS family may have come to join earlier family because the state census of Iowa, 1885, has in Mills County, GASPERS: Michel, 45, & Ann M., 38, both b. Germany. Born in Mills County: Nickolas, 15; Helina, 12; Peter, 9; Michel, 7; & Anna, 5. Unfortunately, that is on the opposite side of Iowa from Ossian, which is in Winneshiek County, northeastern Iowa. The GASPER families did seem to repeat the given names.

Ellis Island has a record of GASPERS, Michael, 16, & Marie, 18, single Germans from Yiosdorf, Germany, arriving 10 Aug. 1903 on the Finland from Antwerp. You would need verification hat this is the right Michael, but the age fits.
