Seeking information on the wife of E.P. or Earl P. OWEN, who was enumerated in 1880 Dakota Territory census, in Waubay. Wife was Ellen OWEN, born about 1853, in Dakota Territory or Minnesota. Children listed in 1880 were Ames 10, Chas 5, Frank 3 , and Minnewashta 1. Ellen and Earl P. OWEN were married about 1868 .

In 1900 Census Dakota Territory, Waubay found a Nellie OWEN with similar children’s names, and believe this Nellie may be the same person enumerated as Ellen OWEN in 1880.

Earl P. OWEN served in the Civil War, Hatches Ind. B, Minnesota Cavalry, and in 1874 owned land in Big Stone County, Minnesota in the town of Graceville. Both E.P OWEN and Ellen/Nellie OWEN were Native American , listed as Sisseton.

Looking for her Maiden name and origins to see if she is related.

Thank you. Denise
