My g-grandmother Ellen Eastman, born 1845 in Illinois, died in Deadwood, SD in 1880. Family legend says that Ellen died in a cholera epidemic, but no date of her death has ever been found. Her husband Chester Eastman listed himself as "widowed" by the time of the 1880 Census that same year.

Ellen's headstone supposedly stands in Mount Moriah Cemetery near the monument to Wild Bill Hickock. My nephew visited the cemetery a couple of years ago, but the stones were in storage while construction work was being done nearby.

Does anyone have a date of death for Ellen Elizabeth (Norton) Eastman?
