My great grandfather, Harris Forbes Plaisted, was one of the original settlers of the town of Britton. His original platte is now known as the Plaisted addition in the town of Britton. I am interested in finding out any information about him, his father (who supposedly died in the Britton area) and his brother. They all settled in the Britton area during the initial settling. I do not know if there are any obituaries available from this era or not.
Here is their information:
Harris Forbes Plaisted b. 1852 died June 8 1891....buried in a local cemetery I think.
filed his claim on March 16, 1885
married a local girl - Emma Oritha Howe (her family had a brick manufacturing business)
William Plaisted (father of Harris) died June 1 1894 in Britton. I would like to know if he was buried in that area and if there is an obituary. May have run for justice around 1885.
Thomas Merrill Plaisted (brother of Harris) was perhaps a clerk of the court sometime during the 1885 - 1894 period.
If anyone has ever heard of any of these names...I would really like to hear from you.
