DAVIS, Melvin A. and DRUEY, John C. I'm searching for information on two of my great grandfathers and their families. Both families homesteaded in Moody County in 1878. Melvin Davis eventually owned an elevator, an implement dealership and possibly a saloon. He was Sheriff of Moody County around 1900. His family included daughters Olive, Cora, May, Leonna Maude, Pearl and Jenni Grace, one son Victor died before the age of one and the other son, Melvin Perry Davis was my grandfather. Melvin Perry married Grace Olive Druey 1902 in Flandreau. John Druey's family included daughters Mary, Winnifred, Rose, Katherine, Lillian, Margaret, Helena, Ella, Grace (my grandmother) and Laura. One son John. Some of the families these two families married into were, Biever, Riley, Richardson, Peart, Hollingsworth, Roberts, Dowdell, Landa, Boselly, Smith, Hayes, Darms. I would appreciate corresponding with anyone associated with these families, and would greatly appreciate any photos, advertis!
ing memorabilia from the Davis Elevator Company or implement dealership, and / or anything with Sheriff Davis on it. Thank you.
