Verna Louise WARD is now 85 yrs old and lives in California. She is the daughter of William Walter and Minnie Louise (COLEMAN) WARD. Verna is the only of their 3 children who is still living. She says she was told that her father's mother, Elizabeth (Lizzie FIELDS) WARD was born (in 1872) to a native american mother and was adopted as a child. Elizabeth FIELDS was raised in Lawrence county, Ohio. Verna, now blind, vividly remembers seeing a photo of Lizzie as a child with her native american mother.
