Message Board Post:
Would like to connect with family members of Ernest HEASSLER born 1895 in Iowa, and Fannie DYER, born in mid 1880's, in South Dakota near the Rosebud Reservation. Their Children were Robert or Robert Clifford, born abt. 1917, Merle Wayne, born abt. 1919, and Marilyn June, born abt. 1925.
The family resided in Todd County, SD as of the 1930 census. Fannie and her children were enrolled at Rosebud reservation.
There is a Robert Clifford HAESSLER, born Oct 21 1918, died May 5 1977 buried in Black Hills Cemetery and a Clifford HEASSLER on the SSDI whose last residence was Rapid City, Pennington. These may be the same person. Wondering if this is a son of Ernest and Fannie.
Fannie DYER HEASSLER was a ½ sister to my ancestor Oliver DION. Fannie's parents were Sophia BEAUVAIS and Robert DYER. Trying to locate when and where Fannie died, and to put together missing pieces of her mother's ancestry. Also trying to find out what happened to Fannie's sister ELIZA DYER, who married Ben DEARINGER/DERINGER.
Have found various spellings of HEASSLER—also HESSLER, HAESSLER. I believe HEASSLER is the correct one.
Thanks,
Denise in MN
