Hi listers,

Here is another one of my mystery SEAVER/SEVER people:

Comfort Sever was born 18 May 1736 in Dorchester MA, the son of Joshua and
Abigail (Foster) SEVER. I have found no other records for the marriage,
death, probate or land records for this person.

Comfort Sever is head of household in the 1790 census in Royalton, Windsor
County, VT, with 1 male over age 16 and 1 female. The female could be a
wife or a daughter or an unrelated person.

A Comfort Sever married Sybil Fish on 13 Sep 1794 in Royalton, VT (from VT
VRs). This may have been a second marriage.

Comfort Sever is a head of household in the 1800 census in Royalton,
Windsor County, VT. The household has 2 males aged 10-16, one male 16-26
and one male over 45 (Comfort). There is 1 female under age 10, 1 female
10-16, 1 female 16-26, and 1 female over age 45 (his wife).

Comfort Sever does not appear in subsequent census records.

I have not searched Windsor county VT probate or land records yet.

My guess is that the children shown in the 1800 census are likely to be
Sybil's children, rather than Comfort's (based on no more than one daughter
in the 1790 census).

Does anyone have info on Comfort Sever?

Regards -- Randy
