Rae Jean,
I'd say it was the transparency setting that's making it look
"light" to you. If you look at the examples on the Rootsweb counter
site, I think you'll see what I mean. All examples with transparency
look as light as yours. Yours actually looks a tad lighter but
I'm thinking it's only the color scheme that makes it seem so.

Notice how much bolder the ones are with tr=N (no transparency).
Now, you might hate the aesthetics of it but I'm betting it'll
look bolder!
