Thanks for the info.

On digging thru census records last night, I did find a Sidney Sellers listed
as being 15 years old in 1870 - youngest son of William C and R A Sellers. This
seemingly ties my known family with the much larger William C Sellers clan
centered around Lowndes County thru much of the 1800's.
This Sidney lines up with the Levi Sidney Sellers buried in the Little Sandy
Ridge Cemetery in Lowndes County, who was evidently my G-G Grandfather. William
Irving (1912) was Grandfather, William C (1881) was G-Grandfather, Levi Sidney
(1855) was G-G Grandfather, William Calvin III (1825) was G-G-G Grandfather,
etc...
Making progress.
thanks for the help!

Hello -

I've recently begun researching family history, and I'm running into
roadblocks on my little-known paternal grandfather's side of the family.
My grandfather was William Irving Sellers, born 1913 in Fort Deposit,
Lowndes County, Alabama. His older brother was Sidney (born 1906).
Father was named William C(Calvin?) Sellers (born ~1882 in Alabama),
married to "Maud L" (born about 1886 in Alabama - likely maiden name
of
"Maud Schley").
>From there, it gets fuzzier. HIS father (my g-g-grandfather) was called

>"Debney" on census records, and was married to a Rebecca. From
what I
>can tell, the 2 likely candidates are "John D Sellers" (born 1856
in
Alabama) or "Levi S(Sidney Sellers" (born around the same time in
Alabama).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Bill
