Lillian-

When you are installing a printer really all you are installing is a driver
that makes the printer communicate with the computer. There is a good chance
if you are using Windows 95/98 or later that a driver that will work with the
new printer will be automatically be detected and installed when you boot up
after attaching the printer.

Attach the printer with the computer shut down and then boot up and see if it
says NEW HARDWARE DETECTED and if so -- follow the instructions that come up
for installing the driver that Windows suggests.

If that doesn't work you can try going to the Website for the company that
made the printer and downloading the most recent driver for your model
printer.
