Hi everyone,
Thanks to Alec for his very swift report on the Worthing Christmas Party
evening. I, personally, had a great time and had interesting chat with
several folks that I normally don't get around to at the normal monthly
meetings.
I am one of the many members of the Group who, as far as I'm aware, have no
elderly relatives or ancestors in or from Sussex, but living here now I find
the friendliness and interest at the local meeting site to be great. My
ancestors all seem to have lead uneventful lives in the Berkshire 'Vale of
the White Horse' or in Oxfordshire. So far, I've found no-one in either the
BHFS or OFHS who relates to me in any way so if any Sussex members have Webb
connections in those particular midlands areas, I'd be very happy to hear
from them. In fact, as editor of the magazine for the Webb One-Name
Register, I'd also be pleased to receive publishable stories relating to any
clan 'Webb'.
Does anyone out there use Family Tree for Windows v5.0 ? Were you aware that
there are errors in the program ? [Not necessarily 'bugs', but 'errors'.]
Most of these errors may be overcome by an upgrade to v5.0b (pftw5b.exe)
freely
downloadable from the Family Tree Maker website at
http://www.familytreemaker.com/50bindex.html Alternatively, for the price
of a disc and postage, I can send you a copy of the upgrade if you require
it. The upgrade is approximately 1Mb in length and can take quite a time to
download from the 'net' if you have a slowish modem.
Happy Christmas to all,
Eddie Webb. 4155 < >
