Sorry to report two omissions.

Henry Lower & Mary Richardson, Alfriston, 27-Dec-1739 botp

He is an ancestor of Mark Anthony Lower, who published several historical books, whose tree I have been tracing on behalf of a cousin in Australia who is descended from that line.

I was in ESRO in the last few days and got out the relevant microfilm XA30/1 which covers a general register of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials fropm 1736-1753. It is very difficult to read but I can report that my record is definitely right but is missing from the SFHG/CD.

Purely as a check, I then made a note of three other marriages from the same document and which took place within a year of the missing entry for Henry Lower. I have found two of those entries on the CD which proves that the document has not been omitted altogether. But the remaining entry is again missing which is:-

William Clifton & Margaret Fuller, Alfriston, 19-Oct-1738 by banns

The fact that two are missing from the same document suggests that there may be more.

On a point of detail I have found a minor error as follows:-

William Langley of Chiddingly and Sarah Sibley of Warbleton, at Battle 15-July-1753 by Licence

The CD says William Langley is of Ardingly but I have checked the transcript in ESRO which definitely says Chiddingly. I have not checked it against the original register.
