Hi all,
Brick wall still in place! I am seeking the parents and siblings of
Phillip Connolly from Co.Monaghan in Ireland. He was a school master and
his wife was school mistress in Carrickmacross and was born there in 1856.
I have been told that there is a book giving the salaries and addresses of
school teachers in Ireland - but living in NZ I am having difficulty
getting to the Griffiths, The Tithe aplottment, hearthmoney roll and census
records of any description - apart from American ones which always go back
as far as the one person who left Ireland and no further.
My direct line went to Dublin then New Zealand or England, although
brothers/sisters may have gone to USA - I dont have names yet. Another
setback - Vincent Connolly is a direct line name and Vincent Connolly is
the RC priest in a parish in Co Monaghan today and he hasn't written back
after 6 months! Gee Thanks Vinnie! <abashed grin> : }
I have visited ALL the new Connolly forums online - Connollyweb, Family
forum, local names, the Shire etc etc and have found other Carrickmacross
Connollys but not the same line - 2nd Cousins most likely. Any help
greatly received.
