Moira, I checked this out on the internet for you - this is all I found was this for the ship to Canada and the spelling is different from yours, but nothing came up with 'Louella'. This is a great website though - I searched for 'Church' and there were some hits on that, but not your Thomas that I could see - worth your checking out though again at greater length perhaps. Good Luck!

Does anyone have a copy of this CD and if so, would they be prepared to do a
look up on it for me? I would be *extremely* grateful.

I have a Thomas William CHURCH his wife Frances who emigrated to Canada (New
Brunswick) from County Leitrim, Ireland, in 1870 when they would have been
aged about 32 and 29. They must have been accompanied by their daughters
Frances and Mary Anna aged 4 and 2, and possibly an infant son Percy who may
have died on the journey.
There is a family story that the ship they traveled on was the 'Louella'. I
have been unable to find any trace of this ship. They gave the date of their
immigration as 1870 in the 1901 census. They did not go via Ellis Island in
New York - I have searched for them on the Ellis Island web site.

best wishes,
