This may get you started:
From: John Vogt and T. William Kethley, Jr., _Rockingham County, Virginia,
Marriages, 1778-1850_ (Athens, Ga.: Iberian Publishing Company, 1984), page 120:
Hord, Nathaniel & Mary Gilmore, 13 May 18l5; min- Wm Cravens
A possible clue to Mary's maiden name can be found in the following
marrriage, page 100:
Gilmore, Thomas & Mary Grace 18 Jun 1801; b- Wm Craven, d of James
(dec) min- Benjamin Erwin
[b = bondsman; d = daughter; min = minister]
This is the only marriage of a Gilmer/Gilmore to any woman named Mary.
Note that Wm Craven(s) was the bondsman for the first marriage and the
minister for the second; this may not be significant, but ....
P.S.: I am sending a copy of this to the list because it illustrates the
point I made in my message of a day or two ago (and to which some took
offense): If folks include the names of specific people and places and dates
(even if approximate), it is a lot easier for others to help. If your
message had lacked "Rockingham County" I wouldn't have even begun looking -
I simply can't check every book I have on the off-chance one of them _might_
contain a plertinent record.
I do hope this helps.
