Jacob Shaffer Query

Seeking parents and birthplaces of Jacob and wife Eve Shaffer. He was born
around the mid 1730s and died in 1807. He received a Northern Neck Land Grant
of 351 a. on 3 Aug. 1762 on Dry Run in Frederick County, VA. It was then
located in Shenandoah County when that county was formed from Frederick and
finally in Page County when formed in 1831. Jacob's will and probate records
are recorded in Shenandoah County Will Book G, pp.127, 128, 160, and
161.Children: Samuel (m.Catharine Shank), Philip (m. Eve Prince), Mary Ann (m.
Nicholas Saum), Magdalena (m.George Prince), Hannah (m. Adam Bloss) and Eve or
Elizabeth (m. David Griffith). He may have been the same Jacob Shaffer who
served in the Frederick County Militia in 1755 and arrived at Philadelphia on
23 Sept. 1752 on the Ship St. Andrew.

This Jacob Shaffer is not to be confused with another Jacob Shaffer who lived
about the same time near Holman's Creek, Shenandoah County. His wife was also
named Eve (nee Kelchner).
