Generation No. 1

1. MARY2 (DAVIDSON)* (GEORGE1 DAVIDSON*) was born Abt. 17251, and died 29
November 1794 in Washington Co, TN1. She married (1) MR. (PRESTON)*. She
married (2) MR. (WHITE)*. She married (3) MR. (DAVIDSON?)*. She married (4)
SAMUEL SHERRILL* Abt. 17461, son of ADAM SHERRILL* and ELIZABETH CORZINE*.

Notes for MARY (DAVIDSON)*:

Notes:

Mary's maiden name in controversy for years! Preston accepted but no proof.
Catherine Sherrill Sevier's granddaughter stated that it was White. 1909 DAR
record accepted Davidson, that she was daughter of George Davidson of the
Davidson Settlement.

1. John 1st Governor of Tennessee

2. Samuels' station in Washginton Co., attacked by Indians, Feb. 1782 & 21
Sept. 1788. Plantation on Nolicichucky called "Daisy Fields." They were
Presbyterians.

3. 1st. child, Samuel and 3rd. child, Adam Sherrill, were on the Watauga Tax
List in 1776.

4. Adam Sherrill also in the "Battle of Boyd's Creek, 1780." [Brøderbund WFT

In Washington Co. Tn will book vol 1, part one page 53. Will dated June 4,
1800. Served with John Sevier at battle of Kings mountain. One of the
signers of the Watauga Petition.

I got this information about the Dobson family from Wanda Clark. Her
information said it was from a Jackie Sherrill, compiler. The "Mackey"
family deeds- Ed Pfiefer pension Claims. Imigration Court Report 1757 -
Lunenburg Co. VA. Court minutes inventory 1791 - Now McDowell Co. N.C.

Update 1993- I now have a copy of a printed page about her fathers life.
