The following was found regarding the founder of Sherwood Kindred of America:

Area: Arlington County, Va., zip 22207
Name: Oakwood Cemetery, former grounds of Fairfax Chapel
As of 2001 April
Listing: complete, checked
Notes: Founded 1779, incorporated 1927; Section B from front tip.
DePutron, Marian Beatrice Carlson 1883 Feb 7 - 1955 Nov 30 b. Alex. Va., d. Hawthorne N.Y., founder of Sherwood
Kindred of America , daughter of Mary Elizabeth and Jacob Coleman DePutron.
Among others buried in this area were:
Sherwood, Lucinda 1813 May 13 - ???? May 2 wife of Archibald
Sherwood, Archibald 1812 Nov 21 - ???? Mar (13?)

One might conclude that Lucinda and Archibald were her direct Sherwood antecedents.

I have no further information but a google search will bring up more on the DePutrons in that cemetery.

Among the members of Sherwood Kindred of America was Starr Sherwood whose name appears from time to time - in particular in "Daniel L. Sherwood and his Paternal Ancestors".
