I can only comment on this part at the moment:
>>>And to comment further upon the baptism of Johan Nicholas Silvius in 1743
at Jordan, we have looked high and low for the connection between Nicholas
Ickes and his wife who sponsored. Marie can comment but as I recall they
really never lived near that church. They lived in Montgomery County which
is closer to Phila. They may have come over on the same ship? We wondered
if they were Anna Martha's parents, but apparently not according to family
records.>>>
Nicholas Ickes and wife Anna Marie Clara (Klein) were the sponsors of the
1743 baptism of #12 Nicholas. It is widely accepted by both the Ickes
researchers and the Silvius researchers that Nicholas Ickes was on the same
ship as #1 Henry--the Queen Elizabeth, which arrived in 1738. The Ickes
researchers (at least the one I corresponded with) did not know that
Nicholas and Clara were sponsors of this 1743 baptism in today's Lehigh
County. Nicholas Ickes is said to be purchasing land about 1745 in Limerick
Twp., today's Montgomery County, only about 36 miles away from Jordan
Church. Their first child was born either 1739 or 1741 but the location is
not stated. There's no further mention of any Ickes and Silvius
relationship that I've ever seen in anyone's research--not that I've pursued
this. And the Silvius name has apparently not turned up in any known Ickes
records in Montgomery County. Anna Marie Clara (Klein) was the daughter of
Adam Klein. I've even gone so far as to look for warrants of an Adam
Klein/Kline plus other Klines to see if they are in the area of #1 Henry's
land. Unfortunately there are a lot of Klines and a few Adams in early
Carbon County and early Lehigh County, and quite a few Klines in the area of
Palmerton, the area of #1 Henry's first warrant.
