You are probably going to have to do some foot work there and write to
Cuyhoga County Ohio. Find out if you can get a death record from them or a
will. If not then the Plain Dealer or the local paper. It sometimes takes
a little trip to the site. Then you can go to the court house, historical
society and library all in one day and pretty well wrap a case. The
Historical society would have old papers on microfilm. The court house would
have all kinds of interesting stuff on them. If no will, then perhaps
intestate records at the recorder's office. They might have other marriage
or death records for family members. The local library probably has a
history section with articles about local people back then. It is very
frustrating when you are working at a full time "day job" but if you are
bitten by the genealogy bug, sooner or later, you will just find a way to get
up there and do it.
I know Western Reserve Univ has quite a bit of historical stuff. I spent
sometime at their library years and years ago before I even thought much
about the SILVII...when I was teaching in that area. Judy
