John Kelley in Ireland was Sean O'Keaghley - he came over on the ship Calf -
this is from memory because I can't get to it right now - in the mid 1700's.
I don't think it came into NYC though. There are no Kuster or Rex' in this
line.

Now you see why I get excited & a bit agitated when this query comes up.
Kelley you say? They came through NYC. What would Kelly have been in
Ireland?
Any relation to the Kuster family of Gen. George Armstrong Custer
(Kaldenkirchen, Rhineland-Palatinate, now Rhineland-Pfaltz? I descend from
it. It ties into the Rex/Ru[umlaut]ger family (& a son or grandson of the
immigrant married a Yeager of the same name). The Rex family in turn ties
to the Silvius one.
I know how frustrating it is with families having known each other without
necessarily a kinship. Rexs & Arners were that way & may have been related
but that has yet to be determined.

My paternal grandfather's mother was Gertrude Kelly (daughter of Patrick
Kelly & Anne Frank, supposedly a Prussian royal family descendant [b. in
PA])
My paternal grandmother's mother was a Rex, descending from Rexs, Silvii,
Kusters, & Holders.
