In the name of God Amen. I Jonathan Simmons of Prince Georges County of the
Province aforesaid being of perfect sense and memory thanks to Almighty God
for the same and as thanksgiving , worldly goods I bestow them as follows.
Item - I give and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth Simmons the
plantation whereon I now live on during her natural life.
Item - I give and bequeath unto my son Jonathan Simmons the plantation I now
live on (during the natural life of Joseph Simmons) after the decease of his
mother.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Simmons all my wearing apparel
at the time of my decease.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughters, Eliz, Mary and Ann one Pistol
each of them of current money to be paid by my executrix after mentioned.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Richard Simmons and to my daughters
Rebecca, Amy, Sarah, and Margery Simmons an equal proportion of my estate
after my just debts are paid and their mother's things deducted to be paid
them by my executor or executrix. My son to have his proportion at the age
of twenty one years & my daughters at the day of marriage.
And I do hereby ordain my loving wife Eliz Simmons executrix of this my last
will & testament. If it please God she's the longest living or in case of
her death before me, then I ordain my son Jonathan Simmons executor of this
my last will & testament during the natural life of Joseph Simmons revoking
and hereby making void all former wills by me made. In testimony whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of January in the year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty four.

Dec. the 1st 1726, came into this office Joseph Brown and Walter Dallas, two
of the subscribing witnesses. Walter made oath to the holy Evangelists of
Almighty God that they saw the testator Jonathan Simmons sign, seal, publish
and declare this instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and
that at the time of his so doing that he was in perfect health and, to the
best of their apprehension of, of sound and disposing mind and memory and
that, with Richard Lodes, in his presence and at his request subscribed
their names as witnesses to the same.
