Hi, Dave, and this is a good sign, because I have been collecting Dave's, lately. I happen to know another man closely connected to our local library and genealogical library, 5th-great grandmother was Ruth SIMMONS, and we know that Ruth was a sister to Hannah, but he is not able to document it. Her last name was spelled "EMMONS," on a document, I believe, but there was no family named EMMONS in the whole area. My cousin who documented our GRIFFES history feels that our Hannah probably died in Steuben Co., NY in 1834, which is the closest to any dates we have for her, except if her husband was born in 1739, she was probably about the same age.

In Edward C. Starr's "A History of Cornwall, Connecticut; A Typical New England Town, 1926, Tuttle, Morehouse & Taylor Company, New Haven, Connecticut, Starr has this:

___Simmons, "Dyed In the army 1776."
Hannah, m. James Griffis, 22 Oct. 1767
Ruth Simmons, m. John Harris, 1761 (Should be Joshua Harris)
Sarah Simmons, m. Titus Mareman/ Merriman?), 13 Nov. 1768.

I have never tried to find her family, but I have been so successful in the three years that I have been on the internet, though, that I think I am ready for the challenge. It is a great feeling to link up with actual descendants of our ancestors, isn't it?
