I also have a John Simmons II, b. in the Virginia Colony ca. 1700-1715, m. Deanne Herbert, they both died in Wake Co., VA, he in 1770 and she in 1790. Their children:
William, John III, Adam, Willis, Solomon, Elizabeth, Mary Molly, and Richard. (my husband is descended from William.)

John II parents were John Simmons I (1675-1718) and Elizabeth Corbell (1680-1753).

John I parents may have been Robert Simmons and Sarah Godfrey Malbone, but this is only by reference from "The Simmons Information Exchange" and no cited records support it as far as I know.

Rest of info is from wills, land grants, Rev War pension records, etc. My husband's branch of the Simmons moved on in early 1800 to MS and LA, where they developed rice plantations. Some still live there on the same land.

I have quite a bit of info posted on my RootsWeb family tree. Several hundred Simmons names. Use the "Index" feature to isolate that surname in my tree and retrieve all the info you want.
