I'm trying to determine if he had a son named John SIMMONS, b. 1814 (somewhere in Middle TN?); d. 1890, Obion Co., TN. John was my g grandfather and was living in Weakley Co., TN by the early 1830's. John's family, according to family stories, is said to have come, originally, from Granville Co., NC. John's 1880 census shows both his parents having been born in North Carolina. Was Thomas SIMMONS John's father? Thanks for any help.
