Does anyone on on this list know if in the Rev. War pension papers, they always asked the same questions. In paticular, 1. where were and when were you borne. 2. Have you any records of age. 3. where were you living when called into service. 4. How were you called into service. 5. what are some of the officers who were with you. 6. did you ever receive a discharge. 7. did you ever receive a commission. 8. state the names of persons whom your are know in your present neighborhood.
I have the pension papers for John and Isham Simmons (believed to be brothers). On John's papers a question and answer sheet is included, but on Isham's papers, there is no question part. I don't know if I just didn't receive the whole pension papers or if his was done differently. I've seen the questions on other pension papers, so I'm thinking they were left out of my copy.
By any chance does anyone on this list happen to have a copy of Isham Simmons pension papers with the questions and answers attached. I don' recall exactly who sent me my copy. Isham Simmons papers were filed in Monroe Co. KY in 1834. He was 78 at the time. Most of the pension papers that I have is where his wife tried to get his pension. On John Simmons papers the question and answer section gave me his birth date and where, and where he was living at different times and when he moved to his last location. That is what I would like to find on Isham's papers. Two things in paticular: where and when was he born and when he moved to Monroe Co. KY.
I'd appreciate any help,
Kyle
