Does anyone out there have info about an Ephraim Simmons who married Louisa
J. McPeak in Macoupin? I believe their son is found on the 1870 Montgomery
County census with Sarah Wood whom I believe to be his grandmother. And I
think maybe the parents were living in St. Clair County at the time.
Maureen's reply to my request for permission included more information see
below
I would be delighted!! Here is all I have. Louisa J. McPeak m. Ephraim
Simmons 23 Jan 1850 in Macoupin County, IL. I believe (but cannot prove)
that Louisa's mother Nancy McPeak was related to Sarah Wood who resided in
Montgomery, IL in 1860 census. Living with Sarah in that census was a James
Simmons, age 8, b. in IL. I have assumed that James Simmons is son of
Louisa
and Ephraim and that his association with Sarah Wood supports conclusion
that
Sarah may be mother of Nancy Wood McPeak. I don't know where Louisa and
Ephraim were at that point, but a Louisa Simmons was in the 1860 in St.
Clair
Co. IL census.
Thanks for your help.
Maureen
