I am looking for information on Lucy Ann Coney/Cony and Uzzial
Simons/Simonds who married in MA and had a son named Samuel
Simons/Simonds born 19 February 1815. This son allegedly died in
New Mexico.

My great-great-grandfather was Samuel Darby Simons; my first fact
on him is his marriage in Tipton Co. TN in July 1845 to Nancy
Emaline Harrison. Their daughter, Lucy Ann, was born in TX in
March 1847. Nancy died within a year or two, and Samuel left her
with two sisters named Hood (NC natives who had previously lived
in Tipton Co.) in Independence, TX and went "to the Gold
Rush"/"to look for gold in Mexico". He was heard from only once
or twice, and family legend says he was presumed dead; Lucy was
raised by the Hood sisters. In the 1920 census, Lucy lists her
father's birthplace as Massachusetts, which, given the
coincidence of her name, makes me believe Uzzial and Lucy Ann may
have been her grandparents.

I would very much like to hear from anyone who might be able to
give me more information on this family.
