Hi! I am a new subscriber. I subscribed to 4 surname lists last night,
and when I came home today, all the "activity" was on the SIMPSON list!
I can already tell that this will be the talkative bunch!

I am a descendent of Thomas Simpson who settled in the Irish Wilderness
are of South-Central Missouri (Oregon County) in 1853. There are at
least 5 generations of Simpsons buried in the Wilderness Cemetery. I'd
love to meet anyone else that descended from that line.

At an "extended" family reunion (consisting of the descendants of 5 sons
of my great-great grandfather Richard L. "Dick" Simpson), I was handed a
copy of the Simpson family history back to 1670. It was typed on a
typewriter, no credit given, so I don't know who did all the work. (I
know it wasn't from my branch of the tree.)

My mother is a SIMPSON, but being very close to my grandparents and
spending much time in the Wilderness makes me feel very close to my
Simpson roots.
