Hi! Am seeking anyone with info on the Simpson's who settled in the area
below. I have a copy of an undated letter Sally Simpson Bennett wrote to
"Milton"--presumably her son and our ancestor John Milton Bennett, era would
have been 1840's priobably. ( Apparently he was going to be in NH, and
Sally wanted him to check family death dates at a churchyard cemetery about 5
miles from Portsmouth, NH). In that letter she said her parents, John Simpson
(Jr) and Hannah Carter were married 15 June 1786 by Rev. McClintock. John
Jr's parents--John and Sarah "Sally" Sheafe Simpson--had emigrated from
Ireland and settled in Greenland, NH. They had 6 sons--John (Jr) George,
Joseph, David, William & Samuel--and 1 daughter whose name was Peggy. George &
Joseph settled in Windham NH. (George's children were Samuel and Polly.)
David lived in or near Pembrook, NH and William & Samuel stayed in Greenland
on the "old place".
If this is in any of your lines, I would appreciate any information to
include in my data base. Thanks! Denise
